It started with tomatoes.

 

Growing up in Oklahoma, Gaya paid a neighbor to water her tomato plants while she was on vacation - only to come home and find the whole bush had been eaten by a cow. Heartbreaking, yes. But it planted something. To this day, the first thing she does after any trip is checkc on her plants.

That early instinct — to tend, to create, to make things grow — never left. Over the years it showed up in a craft club she started in high school, in knitting and pottery, in the peacock feather wedding invitations she made herself, and in the flowers she arranged for her own wedding. Gaya has always been the person who does it herself — not because she has to, but because the details matter to her, and brings her joy.

When she moved to Charlotte and put down roots in Myers Park, it felt like the right place to finally build something. In October 2025, she launched Myers Edit — bringing that same hands-on care to the porches, gardens, and homes of her neighbors and community.
Gaya lives in Charlotte with her husband and kids. When she’s not planting, arranging, or styling, she’s probably checking on something that’s growing.
